Floods greet students and workers returning from the long weekend after heavy rains, brought by enhanced southwest monsoon or “habagat”, hit several areas in Metro Manila early Tuesday.
In a Twitter post, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said flooding was reported in the following areas:• As of 6:32 AM, Espana Lacson both bounds – gutter deep
In its bulletin, PAGASA reported that the low pressure area was spotted early Tuesday morning at 580 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. This reportedly drew the “habagat” which triggered the heavy rains and thunderstorm Tuesday dawn. Cloudy skies with isolated rain showers are expected over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, central Luzon, MIMAROPA, the Bicol Region and the Visayas due to the trough of LPA.
