Suspendido ng 90 araw ang isang guro na inakusahang nanampal ng kanyang estudyante na siyang ikinamatay umano nito, ayon kay Teachers Dignity Coalition (TDC) Chairperson Benjo Basas.
Ani Basas, ang 90-day preventive suspension ay ipinataw ng Department of Education-Calabarzon sa guro matapos makahanap ng prima facie case ng paglabag ng ilang probisyon ng DepEd Child Protection Policy, Anti Child Abuse Law, Family Code, at iba pa.
Ayon kay Basas, dapat maging patas ang gobyerno sa pagsiyasat sa insidente lalo na't sa ilalim ng Magna Carta for Teachers ay dapat may confidentiality kung may kasong kinakaharap ang isang guro.
