Yeng Guiao admitted it felt good to see his team not just wear a throwback jersey that carried the name Welcoat Dragons, but more importantly, come out with a big win on Wednesday night against the Converge FiberXers.
The fiery Rain or Shine mentor said seeing the players wear the retro jersey brought back wonderful memories of the franchise, back when the team began its PBA journey in 2006.In fact, Guiao shared that the Asian Coating franchise managed to protect its good name by 'being ethical' in its dealings in the pro league.
They were able to take good care of their name, by playing by the rules, playing fair and being ethical,' Guiao told sportswriters, shortly after Rain or Shine routed winless Converge, 110-90, for its second straight win in the Philippine Cup.Co-owned by businessmen Terry Que and Raymund Yu, the franchise had its share of ups and downs in its 18-year participation in the PBA, yet the team's big bosses have always maintained the values of the game.
