Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Tuesday, Dec. 22, expressed confidence that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will be able to solve the killing of retired Court of Appeals (CA) Justice Normandie Pizarro.
“The NBI is still investigating. But this will be solved very soon,” the secretary assured reporters.“The NBI is focusing on four persons of interest,” he said Monday night, Dec. 21.The NBI also confirmed on Monday that the body recovered in Capas, Tarlac on Oct. 30 was Pizarro, who is believed to have been brutally killed.Pizarro’s family had sought the help of the NBI since he went missing on Oct. 23.
Citing reports from the NBI, Justice Undersecretary Adrian Sugay said the magistrate was “last seen at a casino in Clark last Oct. 23.” “His car, an early model Honda Accord, was later on discovered somewhere in San Simon, Pampanga,” said the undersecretary in charge of the NBI.
