THE government will deploy vehicles to ensure there will be no stranded commuters during the three-day transport strike from March 24 to 26.
Citing Transport ation Secretary Vince Dizon, the Presidential Communications Office said that the agency will send additional buses to the EDSA busway and additional trains to MRT3, LRT1 and LRT2. Free rides will also be provided by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
Another transport group, Pasang Masda, said it would not participate in the mass action. Dizon appealed to them to engage in dialogue instead of resorting to a strike which would inconvenience thousands of commuters. 'We appeal to transport groups to rethink their planned transport strike for the sake of our commuters, who are having difficulty with their daily commute,' he said in a statement.
