Some P700 million of the funds distributed came from the Presidential Assistance to Farmers and Fisherfolks.Under the program, each El Niño-affected farmer can receive an aid amounting to P10,000.The President, in an earlier speech, said that he wanted to deliver the assistance personally to affected areas so he can hear the people's grievances.
