The government is set to distribute the second tranche of cash grants to poor families next week, Malacañang announced Tuesday.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rolando Bautista has committed to start the distribution of the next round of social aid through the digital payment scheme. The subsidy to low income families will range from P5,000 to P8,000 depending on the region’s minimum wage level.

“It will take them two days to distribute electronically and the rest with the assistance of the Armed Forces. So, tuloy na tuloy po iyan ,” he added. In his 11th weekly report to Congress, President Duterte said around P99.7 billion worth of subsidies have been distributed to 17,640,907 families in the first tranche of the aid program. The number of beneficiaries served is 98 percent of the 17,946,554 estimated beneficiaries.
