Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard Gordon mourned the passing of Dr. James Dy, the President of the Philippine Chinese Charitable Association, Inc, and Governor of the PRC.

"I first met James when as a young lawyer, I represented the Philippine Association of the Record Industry , which he headed. We traveled together on behalf of PARI – to Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, and Taiwan, among others," he continued. The PRC chief pointed out that as Dy's lawyer, he witnessed his work ethic. This level qualified him to take advantage of opportunities that made him one of the Philippines' most successful businessmen.
