REELECTED Sen. Bong Go called for the expansion of the super health center (SHC) network.
REELECTED Sen. Bong Go called for the expansion of the super health center network. Go on Sunday underscored the importance of SHCs in decongesting hospitals and bringing primary care closer to grassroots communities. 'Let us bring services closer to the people,' he said in a statement in Filipino. He said SHCs are vital to 'ensuring that Filipinos — particularly those in underserved areas — receive timely and efficient health interventions.
They offer free consultations facilitated through municipal health offices, local government units, and the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. under its Konsulta program. Go said that the centers address long-standing health care access gaps, especially in rural and geographically isolated communities. The facilities are not stopgaps but a strategic response to systemic health care challenges that have plagued far-flung barangay for years, he said.
