Philippine media giant GMA Network continues to extend its global reach by securing agreements to air 14 of its hit shows in Africa to become a major provider of top-notch Filipino content in the world’s second largest continent. ManilaBulletin
In a statement, the network said that, through its content distribution arm GMA Worldwide, it has sold 14 titles for a total of 492 hours, with the shows set to air on major TV stations in Africa from 2023 to 2024.
Also to premiere in Ghana this 2023 as well are well-loved Filipino series Article 247, Rhodora X, Love of My Life, Broken Faith and Beautiful Strangers. During the firm’s recent annual stockholders’ meeting, GMA Chairman Felipe Gozon said “We are getting into strategic distribution partnerships with other platforms – this is the reason why Maria Clara & Ibarra continues to be No. 1 in Netflix Philippines, and The Write One amongst the Top 5 most-watched in Viu Philippines.”
