7NEWS: Girl, 9, dies in camping tragedy in northern Queensland
A young girl has died in an apparent drowning on a camping trip in North Queensland.
The nine-year-old died near the Bivouac Junction campgrounds, about 30km east of Charters Towers on Saturday, July 8. A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed to 7NEWS.com.au that paramedics attended a drowning incident. The spokeswoman said they tended to a primary school-aged girl who was in a critical condition but who could not be saved.

Queensland house fire ignited after reported explosionDebris has been strewn across the front yard of a home north of Brisbane after a reported explosion ignited a fire at the property. Emergency crews are trying to contain the blaze which began at Murrumba Downs at about 1 o'clock this afternoon.
