With Gilas Pilipinas' commitment to the Asian Games done and over with, Barangay Ginebra team governor Alfrancis Chua said he is now focusing on in attending to the Gin Kings as they prepare to defend their PBA Commissioner's Cup title as Season 48 begins on Nov. 5.
Chua served as Gilas' team manager, while Ginebra coach Tim Cone as the national team's mentor, a partnership that produced the Asian Games men's basketball gold medal last week in Hangzhou, China.The basketball title conquest marked the end to a 61-year gold medal drought in the Asian Games.
Chua bared that after the short break for some of members of Ginebra that joined Gilas, the Gin Kings will hold a mini-training camp at the Inspire Sports Academy in Laguna.'Our team is the very last among the teams that will be holding practice. We will stay in Laguna for five days so we can be together again ,' Chua told media men in Filipino during Monday's press conference to also talk about Gilas' historic Asian Games gold medal finish.
