Gilas Pilipinas interim head coach Tim Cone announced that the men’s and women’s basketball teams are set to have a joint practice on Thursday, Sept. 14 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City. 

Gilas Pilipinas interim head coach Tim Cone announced that the men’s and women’s basketball teams are set to have a joint practice on Thursday, Sept. 14 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

“Gilas Men's Team will have a joint practice with Gilas Women's Team at Philsports on Thursday, Sept 14. We will share the court and have interactions between both teams. The public is free to come and observe. The gates will open at 4 pm. NO tickets necessary!In a separate interview, Cone said that the move was to rally both teams ahead of the Asian games. A private dinner between the two squads is even being arranged after the joint practice session.

The ranked 42 women’s team though won’t be facing these big time teams until the knockout stage except Japan which they are grouped with along with Kazakhstan and Hong Kong.
