KOTA KINABALU: The Fire and Rescue Department responded to a gas leak at a flour mill in Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) here on Friday (April 21).

A 27-year-old factory staff had also become semi-conscious following the incident, where the Hazardous Material Unit Team conducted a decontamination process on him outside the building.

The Department initially received the report at 4.25pm and sent a team of seven Hazmat and three Emergency Medical Rescue Services personnel to the location. "The Hazmat team reported a leak from a gas tank of mixed LPG and Methyl Bromide, which had been shut by factory workers before the team arrived.
