THE Bureau of Fire Protection – Davao City Fire District has estimated the damage from a gas leak explosion at Damosa Gateway , Damosa Complex, Angliongto Avenue, Lanang, Davao City , on Friday evening, January 31, 2025, at approximately P360,000.According to the Bajada Police Station, under Police Major Jethro Salanap, police units quickly responded after reports of the explosion, which affected several establishments, particularly food outlets and restaurants, within a 30-square-meter area.
Witnesses reported seeing smoke rising from an 11-kilogram LPG tank, which ignited when it came into contact with a nearby electric fryer, triggering the explosion.Investigations into the cause of the leak are ongoing, and authorities are monitoring the situation.Meanwhile, Damosa Land issued a statement announcing that the affected area will temporarily close for restoration while investigations continue.
