Ashley is named after Boudreau’s younger sister, who herself was slain in a murder-suicide in Ottawa in 2010.Earlier this week, about 150 people attended a candlelight vigil for Boudreau at the Deep River library. A celebration of Sommer Boudreau’s life is to be held Feb. 4 at the Deep River Royal Canadian Legion and will include a traditional Indigenous ceremony to honour Boudreau’s Algonquin heritage, Stallberg said.
