MANILA, Philippines — Fuel prices are expected to go down slightly next week following the announcement of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, according to an oil company official on Tuesday.

Jetti Petroleum President Leo Bellas said that while the prices remained elevated during the first day of trading of Mean of Platts Singapore, the announcement of the ceasefire between Israel and Iran could pull prices down coming into Friday.'MOPS on diesel fell by more than $3 per barrel in yesterday’s trading and gasoline by over $0.50 per barrel.

Trump announced on social media that Israel and Iran have agreed to a ceasefire, signaling an end to nearly two weeks of escalating air assaults by the two countries.The US president said the agreement involved two 12-hour ceasefire periods, starting with Iran at about 12 a.m. EDT, which would be executed 'when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in-progress, final missions. Israel would then follow with a second 12-hour ceasefire.
