France banks on big man Rudy Gobert for FIBA World Cup success FIBAWC
France hopes a team filled with NBA players and led by the league's towering 2-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert has a good shot at winning the World Cup in China.
The veteran Nicolas Batum of the Charlotte Hornets brings a decade of NBA experience, and the New York Knicks' Frank Ntilikina and the battle-hardened Europe-based guard Nando de Colo provide ample backup for Fournier at point guard. Gobert has NBA career averages of 10.5 rebounds and 11.1 points per game, not to mention shot-blocking ability that will intimidate many of France's opponents.
