TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Four former rebels recently received various forms of assistance under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.
The assistance was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the Philippine Army, the Philippine National Police, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the provincial government.One of the four former rebels who is from Dilag, Tabuk City, received P100,431.22 while one ex-rebel from New Tanglag, Tabuk City, received P153,538.06.
James Edduba pointed out to the rebel returnees the importance of compassionate treatment for them as it will serve as a catalyst for the government to be able to convince more rebels to surrender and be able to join the mainstream society free after a brief rehabilitation.Edduba cited the importance of having well-planned livelihood projects for the returning rebels.
