The Ehler family and the Truro Police Service, prepared to present their cases to the police review board last Monday. Brendyn CreamerTRURO, N.S. — Former lead investigator Cpl. Monte Emery took the stand at the police review board hearing concerning Dylan Ehler's disappearance on Thursday to testify.

Another tip came in later that day of a boy who had been seen at Kiwanis Park earlier that morning. Emery checked surveillance video from businesses near the pond. Due to the camera's distance from the pond, Emery found it difficult to tell who the boy might've been.Emery also put out an email to the Town of Truro to see if any footage was available from the camera at Riverfront Park. They replied the next day stating there was no footage available.

"We determined that we wanted to put the process to the last person that seen Dylan," said Emery on the stand. After a year and a half of being the lead investigator on Dylan's case, Emery passed it over to Sgt. Bruce Lake. Emery explained this change was due to his five-year term in the detective division being up. He said detectives turn over every few years so other officers can get experience in the division.
