Jason Malloy - Jason MalloyBefore the leaf was placed on the tree, a ceremony was held in the historic garden entryway following the final of the conker championship, which Davies brought to the town.
She said Davies started her on the journey to become a crier 10 years ago and continued to be a source of encouragement and support. “Stand up straight, speak to the back of the room, don’t talk too fast, be a little funny and get yourself a stool to stand on,” he told her.“You gave to me the greatest and most liberating advice a mentor can give. You gave me my freedom,” she said, noting how Davies left big shoes to fill. “You told me, Peter, to simply be me. You encouraged me to make the role of town crier of Annapolis Royal my own. You let me go. I am very grateful to you for such generosity.
