In 2021 alone, 58,447 road accidents happened in Metro Manila. Understanding that road safety begins with a more educated driver, Ford Philippines launches the 14th edition of its globally-recognized program, Driving Skills For Life or DSFL.
With the theme, “Learning Safe and Fuel-Efficient Driving In The New Normal”, this year’s DSFL covers key topics on basic vehicle dynamics, pandemic driving precautions and car maintenance, driving in various conditions, safe driving technologies, anti-distracted driving, fuel-efficient driving, and a brief refresher on the Non-Contact Apprehension Policy and new road rules and regulations.
The DSFL has successfully trained close to 30,000 drivers since it was launched in the country in 2008. Over the years, the program has made itself relevant with the changing road conditions, policies, and government regulations. In 2021, over 1,600 public and private drivers participated in more than 20 virtual DSFL sessions conducted on Zoom. This year, Ford hopes to better educate 3,000 motorists before the end of the year.
