DAVAO CITY – The Office of the Civil Defense (OCD)-Davao region said on Friday, September 20, that 139 families or 409 persons in the Davao region were affected by the flooding incident on Wednesday, September 18, caused by heavy rains from the southwest monsoon or “habagat.

DAVAO CITY – The Office of the Civil Defense -Davao region said on Friday, September 20, that 139 families or 409 persons in the Davao region were affected by the flooding incident on Wednesday, September 18, caused by heavy rains from the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

It said that the flooding occurred at 6:12 p.m. in Barangay Astorga and over an hour later at 7:38 p.m., flooding was also monitored in different barangays in Davao City – Bucana, Matina Crossing, Matina Aplaya, Talomo Proper, and Maa. A power interruption was reported in Jose Abad Santos town in Davao Occidental province and the municipalities of Gov. Generoso and Lupon in Davao Oriental. Electricity was restored as of September 19, OCD-Davao said.
