Matt and Kylie lost their farm and said the flood that hit their community is something they'll never forget.They said they lost about a third of their hay, about 100 tonnes."It's your livelihood as well as your job. It's everything, it's your life," Matt said.Sheep farmer of 20 years Dee Buttle, who lives upstream from Eugowra, said she watched everything she owned get washed away when a wall of water came charging towards her home.
They lost more than half a million dollars worth, including their house, fences, sheds, tools and machinery, livestock and their livelihoods.The couple said they feel like they need to start their lives from scratch, having no flood cover on their insurance.Matt and Dee Buttle. It's hoped that the truckloads of hay being delivered to these farmers, along with some helping hands and someone to listen, will help ease some of their pain.
