Sudbury marks its fifth straight win with a 107-99 win over Kitchener-Waterloo

In front of a packed house of 3,159 fans at Sudbury Arena on a chilly Family Day, the Sudbury Five took to the court to take on the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans.Both teams showed up to play, especially on the defensive side of the ball in this one. Early on, Five veteran Dexter Williams Jr. put Sudbury on top with an easy layup to make the score 6-5 for the Five.

Early in the third quarter, the Five’s J.D. Miller hit a fadeaway jumper from the baseline to cut KW’s lead to 60-56. With three minutes left in the third and the score tied at 69, Five newcomer Curtis Hollis stole the ball from Kitchener and executed a sweet layup to give Sudbury the lead, 71-69.With just under 10 minutes remaining in the game, Williams Jr. dished off a pass to J.D. Miller for the slam dunk to give the Five an 84-82 lead.

When asked what the main difference between Sudbury and his last stop in the Dominican Republic, newcomer Curtis Hollis joked, "100 per cent the weather."
