Five members of the Philippine National Police were awarded in recognition of their exemplary performance in the campaign against illegal drugs in the Cordillera region.

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet — Brig. Gen. Patrick Joseph Allan, deputy regional director for administration, presented the awards of Medalya ng Kagalingan to Capt. Ruben Balanoy, SSg Novis Denne Bulao, and SSg Ryan Floyd Dagadag, all from Tabuk City Police Station , Kalinga Police Provincial Office , for their successful conduct of checkpoint operation that resulted in the arrest of two drug personalities and confiscation of marijuana in Kalinga.

The same award was given to Capt. Lyster Abag and Cpl Efren Agayo, both from Benguet PPO, for conducting a buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of a drug personality and confiscation of ‘shabu’ in La Trinidad, Benguet. The awards were presented by Police Regional Office Cordillera during a simple ceremony at the Masigasig Grandstand in Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet on Monday, Jan. 30.

The Medalya ng Kagalingan is awarded to members of the PNP for a single act of heroism or series of heroic acts.
