Australia’s former chief scientist says electrification and hydrogen will both have a big role to play in decarbonising the global economy.

Mr Wood, Dr Finkel and Dr Griffiths appeared to agree that hydrogen may be best suited to industrial processes, with Dr Griffiths saying ammonia – a compound of hydrogen and nitrogen – could be a big export opportunity for Australia.to energy customers as well because it is a more stable compound than pure hydrogen.
