KOTA KINABALU: Kota Marudu District Council members have been urged to find new sources and ways to boost the council's coffers.

Speaking to the new Kota Marudu District Council member line-up for the 2023-2025 term on Monday , Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam said members must work as a team and become creative in generating ideas to improve their quality of service.

"We want programmes implemented by the district council to empower Kota Marudu to be on par with other districts," said Gunsalam, who is also Sabah Local Government and Housing Minister."My hope is the council members have good rapport with council staff to ensure the best performance in serving the people.
