Filipino troops guarding BRP Sierra Madre receive award from AFP chief

General Romeo Brawner Jr., AFP Chief of Staff, awards the returning Navy personnel who have completed their deployment at the BRP Sierra Madre on Ayungin Shoal on July 29, 2024, at Naval Detachment Oyster Bay Pier, Palawan.28 troops stationed in BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal were awarded by its Chief on Monday.

These brave personnel recently completed their deployment in Ayungin Shoal in West Philippine Sea that ended in the Rotation and Resupply mission on July 27 and have now returned to solid ground. “The AFP extends its heartfelt gratitude to these valiant men and women for their unwavering service and sacrifices. Their dedication ensures the integrity of our territory, sovereignty, and sovereign rights, reflecting the true spirit of patriotism,” he stated.
