In a report by Sam Nielsen on Super Radyo dzBB, Laylo’s family confirmed that DMW Secretary Susan "Toots" Ople had asked the Filipino lawyer to be part of the agency.Leah said her son became close to Ople, who offered him a staff position at the DMW. The lawyer’s family expected the DMW chief to visit on Saturday, the last day of public viewing of Laylo's remains.

An intimate service will be held on Sunday before Laylo’s remains will be brought to the crematorium.
