MILAN -- Ill with COVID-19, nurse assistant Isabel , is praying for a swift recovery for herself and her sister, among several Filipino frontliners in this central European country to contract the disease.

"Lumalaban kami dahil gusto pa namin mabuhay kahit mahirap ang pagdadaanan. Pinipilit ko makakain para may lakas ako. Walang ibang sandata kung hindi dasal," Isabel said. Italy is also among the top destinations for the 10 million Filipinos who work overseas, according to official data.
