Fil-British swimmer Heather White will continue her athletic career at Duke, she announced Friday, July 5.

The 17-year-old White, who is gunning for a spot in the Philippine contingent for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand next year, disclosed her move while in Durham, North Carolina as she expressed her excitement and thanked her loved ones for their unwavering support.

“I have been blessed with the endless support from all my coaches, friends, and family who have stuck by me throughout my journey,” she added. “And to my parents, I would not have this opportunity without their unconditional support and sacrifice.” Though White made an impressive display in the said event, her fellow Filipina Kayla Sanchez notched the highest points in the category which meant the latter would secure her Paris ticket along with Jarod Hatch.
