A cover version of the classic song “Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin,” popularized by the late pop balladeer Rodel Naval, found itself among the entries in the ongoing first round of voting by Grammy voters, or those authorized to decide which songs and artists will officially be nominated in certain categories for next year’s Grammy Awards.
The artist who spent his young years in Pangasinan released a song called “Burning Memory” many years ago, which in March 2008 got included in a Mainstream Club America list featuring international stars like Britney Spears and Celine Dion. In the Filipino-American community, Racadio is primarily acknowledged for his blogging efforts through the site Blogtalk with MJ Racadio and his annual list of the 75 Most Influential Filipinos in America.
The singing blogger was part of Apl.de.Ap’s show last October 6 that essentially kicked off Filipino-American History Month in Southern California. Two days later, he was in an FYC music event in downtown Los Angeles where Grammy voting members were said to have been invited.
