A farmers' group has proposed 'a package of measures that warrants an urgent certification' from the President to resolve the food crisis and ensure Filipino food security as inflation continues.
As the country continues to suffer from the effects of inflation, a farmers’ group has proposed “a package of measures that warrants an urgent certification” from the President, believing that it can help resolve the food crisis and ensure food security for Filipinos.
“We reiterate to Congress and Senate the deliberation and passage of Food Self-sufficiency Bills supported by farmers and food producers,” the group stressed. Geared towards achieving food accessibility, affordability, and security in the Philippines through urban and peri-urban agriculture and community engagement, the HAPAG KAY PBBM program was made possible by merging two government initiatives on urban agriculture: the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s HAPAG sa Barangay Project and the Department of Agriculture’s Green Revolution 2.
