Co was on field work studying the native trees in a forest in Kananga, Leyte when soldiers mistook him and his two aides as members of the New People’s Army. The soldiers fired 245 rounds. It has since been a long-winded battle for Leonard’s family that the case ceased to be a problem confined to the family. As years passed, it has turned into an advocacy.
