The Unity Package, first announced on Jan 2, will offer unlimited data at 30Mbps speed for RM69 a month.
The package will be open to those in the B40 income group, persons with disabilities , senior citizens, as well as army and police veterans.
Fahmi also provided updates on the national digital infrastructure plan, Jendela: as of the fourth quarter last year, 7.74 million premises had been fitted with fibre connectivity, surpassing the targeted 7.5 million premises. He added that the average mobile broadband speed hit 116.03Mbps, exceeding the target of 35Mbps for last year, while 4G coverage in populated areas reached 96.92%, slightly ahead of the targeted 96.9% outlined in Phase 1 of Jendela.
As of last month, Fahmi said 4,363 5G sites have been established nationwide, with network availability reaching 54.7% in populated areas.Full details about the achievements of Jendela in the fourth quarter of last year are expected to be released in a report later this month.
