Faculty association president Adango Miadonye expressed his gratitude to the provincial conciliator, the bargaining team, executive board, strike action committee and the communications committee for dealing with the university board of governors during bargaining.Adango Miadonye, Cape Breton University Faculty Association president:"We did want to send a message to the employer that we wanted a better working relationship between us.
The two sides did reach a tentative agreement late Sunday afternoon. And on Monday, no faculty members were visible picketing outside the university’s Grand Lake Road campus. “CBUFA members play a pivotal role in many of these initiatives and in the educational experiences of our students. We are very much looking forward to having our faculty and our students back in the classroom. I also want to thank both bargaining committees for their hard work in reaching this agreement.”
