The Toyota GR Yaris receives a facelift and introduces an automatic transmission option, alongside performance and handling upgrades.
The facelifted GR Yaris has been shown at the 2024 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS), featuring an automatic transmission option for the first time. While official Malaysian pricing and details are still pending, the display unit showcased at KLIMS is equipped with an automatic transmission . This automatic version utilizes Toyota's Gazoo Racing Direct Automatic Transmission , an eight-speed unit optimized for sporty driving.
Both manual and automatic GR Yaris facelifts boast an enhanced 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 304 PS and 400 Nm of torque. The GR-Four all-wheel driveline has also been revised, offering variable torque distribution within its drive modes. Track Mode adjusts the torque split between 60:40 and 30:70, Gravel Mode defaults to 53:47, and both modes adapt based on driver input, vehicle behavior, and road or track conditions.
