Korean media outlet SPOTV published an exclusive report that Chen and his wife will have their wedding ceremony in October. In January 2020, Chen announced that he was getting married and that his girlfriend was pregnant. "I have a girlfriend, who I want to share the rest of my life with. While I was discussing with other EXO members and company officials about delivering the news , a blessing came to us,” he wrote.
He added,"I didn't' want to take more time, so decided to take the courage. I am thankful to my members for their good wishes, and I want to thank my fans for their love. I will keep striving to reciprocate the love,” reported the Korea Times. After the announcement, his wife gave birth to their first baby on April 29, 2020. While he was in the military, his wife got pregnant with their second baby, who was born on Jan. 19, 2022. The report stated that the wedding ceremony will be attended by family, close acquaintances, and EXO members.
