Execs discuss conditions of 2 San Fernando flyovers

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO —Pampanga officials led by Governor Dennis Pineda and Third District Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr. met with officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways to discuss the traffic situation and the status of the two flyovers in the city.The DPWH had issued a report that the two structures are in bad state.This raises issues on the safety of the structures in terms of accommodating public vehicle traffic.

The two structures are situated along the Jose Abad Santos Avenue section in Barangay Dolores near McDonalds and the intersection along Lazatin Boulevard.Because of this, the DPWH recommended to the local government the temporary banning of trucks in the two structures. If this move goes through, the City Government of San Fernando is also considering adjusting the time of the truck ban in the city including the work hours of government employees so as not to contribute to the rush hour traffic.
