The delay of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao parliamentary elections to Oct. 13, allows the regional government to resolve legal issues from the Supreme Court’s ruling excluding Sulu, Presidential Peace Adviser Carlito Galvez Jr. said Saturday.
Galvez thanked President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for signing the law, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to fulfilling peace agreements and ensuring lasting development in the Bangsamoro region. Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Saturday lauded the BARMM for the ceremonial launch of the Bangsamoro Social Protection Plan 2024-2028, a significant milestone for the region’s ongoing pursuit of inclusive and equitable development.
Gatchalian said the implementation of this plan will bring about positive change, empowering the most vulnerable and marginalized sectors in the region.
