A former army personnel carrying illegal drugs valued at P135, 000 was caught in a drug bust in Iligan City, regional drug enforcers said on Sunday. The suspect, Mcrome Dequeta Lozada, 40, from Cotabato City, was apprehended in a pension house during a buy-bust carried out by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency operatives based in Cagayan De Oro City.
Rosemarie Autor-Bajao, PDEA spokesman in Northern Mindanao, said Lozada was an enlisted man in the Philippine Army officer, who was discharged in May 2020 for involvement in illegal drugs. She added that the arrest of Lozada, listed as a high-value target drug personality, was carried out successfully by a team of Philippine Army and PDEA operatives. Seized from the suspect were eight heat sealed sachets containing shabu weighing about 20 kilograms.
