THE board of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) on Monday elected Maya Bank Chairman Alfredo Panlilio as the business organization's incoming president following Manuel Bonoan's resignation last week.
THE board of the Management Association of the Philippines on Monday elected Maya Bank Chairman Alfredo Panlilio as the business organization's incoming president following Manuel Bonoan's resignation last week.Panlilio, the chairman of Maya Bank and formerly president and CEO of PLDT Inc., will take over the 2025 term that Bonoan was supposed to serve following a previous election in November.Bonoan, a former Finance undersecretary who is currently KPMG R.G. Manabat and Co.
'The MAP noted Panlilio's extensive experience in the telecommunications and energy sectors, saying he would bring wide-range leadership and a strategic vision to his upcoming role.He served as PLDT president and CEO from 2021 to 2023 and held the same roles in subsidiary Smart Communications Inc. from 2019 to 2023 before retiring due to health reasons. Panlilio is still a director in both firms.He was also senior vice president at Manila Electric Co.
