Tropical Depression Ester slows down over the Philippine Sea east of extreme northern Luzon, according to the Tropical Cyclone Bulletin posted by PAGASA early Saturday morning.
The center of Tropical Depression Easter was estimated at 785 kilometers east of Itbayat, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and central pressure of 1000 hPa moving slowly in the north northwest direction.
Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Zambales, Bataan, Aklan, Antique, and Samar Provinces will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon / Ester with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon / localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.Hazards affecting coastal waters
The tropical depression and the southwest monsoon will bring moderate to rough seas over the northern and eastern seaboards of the country making conditions risky for those using small seacrafts. Mariners are advised to take precautionary measures when venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigating in these conditions.Tropical Depression Ester is forecast to move generally northward to north northwestward and may exit the PAR Saturday afternoon.
Outside the PAR region, the tropical cyclone is forecast to pass very close or make landfall in the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands tonight or tomorrow early morning.
