A teacher in Cavite, identified as a sexual offender, has allegedly threatened an alumna for sympathizing with sexually harassed students.
Youth organization Enough is enough wants to meet with Vice President Sara Duterte to discuss the proliferation of sexual harassment cases in schools, and how it can be a safe space for students as they prepare to conduct full face-to-face classes.
In a statement, EIE said that a MAPEH teacher in BNHS identified as a sexual harasser was threatening an alumna, saying that those who sympathize with the harassed students are "being screen shot." "We shall not be cowed into submission. Is it not enough that government policies and protocols favor the accused and victim-survivors have to go against the social stigma of being victimized and gaslighted by adults and persons of authority? We demand protection and we demand it now."
"The DepEd must act decisively if they wish to stamp out the menace of campus predators, and rid their agency of disreputable personnel and protect the youth," EIE said.
