Here's what to expect weather-wise this Family Day.
The vague promise of wet snow only materialized for the higher elevations of Metro Vancouver overnight. Here at sea level, Vancouverites put up with a drizzly evening and some foggy patches which set the tone for the rest of this weekend's forecast.
As temperatures warm up a bit we may even see some sunny breaks Friday before strapping in for a rainy long weekend. Environment Canada calls for clouds and a 30 per cent chance of showers until this afternoon when we'll see a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 7 C. It will cloud over again overnight with a 60 per cent chance of showers heading into the long weekend. There may be some sun patches on Saturday and a high of 7 C.
Sunday is looking cloudy and grey with periods of rain and the wind kicks in on the Family Day holiday Monday. There are no weather warnings in effect as of yet but we can expect a wet and windy Family Day.
