“Enshrining targets in law shows the NSW Labor government is serious about reaping the benefits of driving down emissions and moving to more affordable, renewable energy,” Premier Chris Minns said. “We believe we can get there,” she said. “It’s very clear that when the targets were originally announced by Matt Kean in 2021, Eraring was due to stay open until 2032. And it’s subsequently been brought forward.”
