The Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers serve as a safe space for children to access education and important life skillsRonald McDonald House Charities and McDonald’s Philippines have launched two new Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers, one in Purok Matinabangun, Barangay Labangal in General Santos City, and another in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.
McDonald’s Philippines Assistant Vice President for Corporate Relations and Impact, Adi Timbol-Hernandez, highlighted the program’s role in “supporting early childhood care and development as a foundation for lifelong learning,” noting that each center offers a Learner’s Area for foundational lessons, a Reading Corner, and a Play Corner, alongside facilities promoting basic hygiene.
Each Bahay Bulilit center supports around 90 to 100 children annually, offering spaces designed to nurture creativity, social interaction, and personal hygiene habits. Daily operations, including staffing with trained daycare teachers, are managed by the City Social Welfare and Development in partnership with the LGUs, who also provide the sites.
