President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. designated Police Lieutenant General Emmanuel Peralta as officer-in-charge of the PNP, the Presidential Communications Office announced.
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. designated Police Lieutenant General Emmanuel Baloloy Peralta as officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police after General Benjamin Acorda ended his term on Sunday, the Presidential Communications Office announced.Perala is the PNP's Acting Deputy Chief for Administration, a post he assumed in February 5, 2024.Acorda's term was supposed to have ended on December 3, 2023 when he reached the mandatory retirement age of 56.
“In the exigency of the service, and to ensure the continuous and effective delivery of service, please be informed that Police Lieutenant General Emmanuel Baloloy Peralta is designated as concurrent Officer-in-Charge, Office of the Chief, PNP, effective 31 March 2024, until a replacement is appointed or until otherwise directed by this office,” a memorandum signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin stated.
