Currently, the verification system has specific guidelines on who may be verified, and prevents individuals who have a history of platform manipulation or hateful activity from being verified. “The blue Verified badge on Twitter lets people know that an account of public interest is authentic. To receive the blue badge, your account must be authentic, notable, and active,” Twitter’sMusk lists other ideas in a thread.
